WELCOME TO IVY MEETS ROSE

In 2014 I worked at a local florist whilst I had just started university and I knew nothing about flowers. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with the industry - I loved the creativity, the colours, the scents, the textures! Whilst I still completed my double degree in Public Health & Global Studies, I kept being drawn back to the creative world of floristry. A few years passed and after a DIY wedding for my sister and a few weddings for other friends & family, Ivy Meets Rose was born.

The name ‘Ivy Meets Rose’ transpired as I developed my floristry style to be organic, wild & often unstructured but still using a mix of classic blooms. I didn’t want to be tied to a certain style, but had fun forever learning & trying new techniques. ‘Ivy’, referring to the more wild & textured flowers, & ‘Rose’, referring to the more traditional, timeless flowers. Two styles coming together as one. Over the years I have furthered my knowledge on floristry & now take pride in the fact that I don’t use any floral foam (a single use plastic) & use nearly 100% Australian grown blooms (a goal to be 100% one day!!). My love for flowers extends to the garden as I love watching the seasons come & go here in Melbourne. Some of my favourite flowers include dahlias, ranunculi, delphinium, poppies, stock, cosmos, roses, and anything native like banksias & waratahs. There’s not much I don’t like if used in the right way!

I love the outdoors and often spend my days exploring the beautiful surrounds of the Dandenong Ranges or Yarra Valley whilst on walks with my border collie Arnold & husband. I love gardening, photography, crafts, lots of sport, learning about being more sustainable in my business & daily life & chocolate (lots of it & cadbury, always cadbury)

But that’s enough about me!
